This is a Zoom Meeting.

During this session, you will learn our current coverage for "cameras" doesn't adequately cover our community. There are two additional cameras recommended by Dr. Graham Kent at the University of Nevada Reno (he is the lead for nearly 1,000 cameras across California, Oregon and Washington). Dr. Kent will provide an overview of AlertFire (
www.alertfire.org
), how the cameras work and proposed coverage for our Serene Lakes area. We will also be joined by Mike Rufenacht from CalFire, Chief Kevin McKechnie from Truckee Fire (our new fire chief), and Eric Horntvedt also from Truckee Fire. Mr Horntvedt will spend a few minutes on the new chipping/defensible space program now covered by Truckee Fire (more info on Measure T).
We will also provide an update on the Early Warning System - Genasys/LRAD for notification and why the Safety Committee has shifted its efforts from a "notification" system to a "detection" system (cameras) to support our Community.
The purpose of this session is to educate our community prior to releasing a survey to SLPOA members for next steps.
Please join us. This session will also be recorded and shared with SLPOA members.
